DAILY GRINDER: Philadelphians Uglier Than Ever, Apparently ...

Nov 20, 2012 by Randy LoBasso

They?re at it again: Travel and Leisure Magazine has a new ranking out that says, without a doubt, according to, like, science or some shit, Philadelphians? combined attractiveness ranks 33rd of the country?s 35 largest cities. The good news is that we?re not as hideous and twisted as Baltimore and Anchorage, Alaska, whose freak populations came in at 34 and 35. And when ranking the bottom three cities, Travel and Leisure also noted, in super-tiny print, that their editorial staff banged all our moms?you know, just to be dicks about it.

The Philadelphia Police Department is on Pintrest, because they are hip!

Gov. Tom Corbett says the state pension system, the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board and the highway system top his ?to-do? list, now that he?s only got two years left in his first term. No surprise here, but he?s worried about the federal government?s Medicaid expansion which the state would have to actually deal with in about 10 years. Corbett is quickly becoming known as one of the most vulnerable Republican governors in the country.

Last night was Philadelphia Weekly?s event at the Free Library, promoting our new e-book, The Survivors? Project, and it was standing-room only. Before the event, Newsworks put out this piece about PW senior editor Nina Hoffmann and her husband Joel, who co-edited the book.

PoliticsPA has released their list of Pennsylvania?s Top 20 campaign operatives under 30?and who knew any of these people were under 30?

The Phillies? minor league team based in Reading, Pennsylvania, has very awesomely changed their name from the Reading Phillies to the Reading Fightin Phils.
